Requirements: [OK Board Reg. 535:15-13-8 and Pharmacy Technician Training Guidelines]
Prior to receiving a permit, all pharmacy technicians must have satisfactorily completed a Pharmacy Technician Training Program - Phase I (initial training). A technician may begin Phase II (on-the-job training) only after they have received their permit and must complete it within ninety (90) days of receiving their permit.
1. Phase I: Applicant must complete a technician training program. [See criteria listed in Pharmacy Technician Training Guidelines]
2. Applicant must submit an application ($40) to the pharmacy board.
3. Phase II: Applicant must complete an on-the-job training program within 90 days of receiving a permit. [See criteria listed in Pharmacy Technician Training Guidelines]
Renewal
Required
Applicant must submit a renewal application ($40) to the pharmacy board annually by the last day of the registrant’s birth month.
Training
Required
Pharmacy manager is responsible for administering a training program and maintaining records. The instructional text of the training program must be kept in the pharmacy and submitted for approval to the Board on request. [OK Board Reg. 535:15-13-13]
The National Pharmacy Technician Training Program can be incorporated into on-the-job training.

Not Required
The pharmacist manager shall assure that the pharmacy technician remains competent through continuing on-the-job training.

Can the ExCPT be Taken?
Yes
Certification is completely voluntary. Nevertheless, ExCPT certification provides national recognition of your knowledge and skills and may make you more marketable.
